Yes. Joining, posting, city groups, and divorce verification are all free, anywhere in the US. A paid option exists for one dating feature — seeing who has already liked you — and community membership stays free.

Where is Haply available?

The community is open across the United States and is useful wherever you live. Dating is currently open in Chicago only, deliberately: a dating pool spread across many cities is empty in all of them. Members elsewhere can join the waitlist, which is what decides the next city.

What does a verified badge mean on Haply?

A member has submitted a divorce decree or certificate of dissolution, and an automated review found it consistent with the details they entered. That is the entire claim. It is not a confirmation of identity, it is not checked against any court record, and it is not a background check of any kind. Treat it as one signal among many, never as a substitute for your own judgment.

What happens to a document I upload for verification?

It is stored encrypted, is never shown to other members, and is deleted automatically 90 days after a decision. A person opens it only if you ask us to review a decision or the automated check could not resolve it, and every such access is logged. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Question 6

Does Haply run background checks on members?

Accepted Answer

No. Haply does not conduct criminal background screenings, sex-offender registry checks, or identity checks. Divorce verification is not a background check. Always meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and never send money to someone you have not met.
